Bunions

Bony bumps form on the joint at the base of the big toe, causing discomfort. Other signs include swelling, pain, and limited movement.

Other signs and symptoms of a bunion include:

  • Swelling, redness or soreness around your big toe joint
  • Corns and calluses – these typically develop around where the first and second toes are rubbing against each other
  • A bulging bump on the outside of the base of your big toe
  • Constant pain or pain that comes and goes
  • Limited motion of the big toe
