Is HyProCure® a Viable Solution for You?

Do you have flat, misaligned feet? HyProCure® may be the solution

Hope is Not Lost!

HyProCure® is used to help patients whose feet are misaligned and who have not responded to traditional forms of treatment such as custom orthotics. If your feet are misaligned your weight is abnormally distributed which can cause a variety of pathologies. HyProCure fixes your misalignment internally, and alleviates many associated symptoms such as:

  • Morton's neuroma
  • Achilles tendonitis
  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Reduction of the long-term effects of osteoarthritis
  • Tarsal tunnel syndrome
  • Metatarsalgia
  • Over pronation (which can lead to neuroma)
  • Ankle inversions and eversions

In addition, power walking, jumping, or running can sometimes exacerbate these common problems to occur. Athletes and other people who are very active may find that HyProCure® is the only effective treatment to cure pain and mobility issues, allowing them to return to the sports they love.

HyProCure® is a minimally invasive procedure where a titanium stent is placed into the sinus tarsi, which is a naturally occurring space in between the ankle and heel bones. The sinus tarsi should always be open, and this stent can help prevent the sinus tarsi from collapsing while also stabilizing the ankle bone. The procedure sounds much more intense than it is. In fact, it is performed in-office under local anesthesia. HyProCure® has been used by foot and ankle surgeons in over 40 countries to help patients feel better. Currently, Medical Foot Solutions is the only clinic in Ontario that is certified to perform this procedure.

Why are Properly Aligned Feet So Important?

Your feet are the foundation of your body. If there is a problem with your feet, it can cause issues with other parts of your body. Misaligned feet can work up your body and cause pain and discomfort in your knees, hips and back. In this case, treating your knee, hip and back pain is like treating the symptoms, not the cause of the symptoms. Treating the misalignment in your feet is the best way to resolve pain and discomfort elsewhere in your body.

How Does HyProCure® Help?

HyProCure® realigns and stabilizes your foot, allowing normal range of motion in your joints. The overall alignment and balance of your foot and ankle will be improved. You may also notice that the arch on your foot is straighter after the procedure than it was before.

Are You a Candidate for the HyProCure® Procedure?

Although the procedure is a rather simple one, it is invasive, and we recommend trying all non-invasive treatments first. An evaluation must be done by the professional chiropodists at Medical Foot Solutions to ensure that your foot meets the basic criteria for the procedure. This will involve seeing how your foot reacts to standing on it, walking, general joint ranges of motion, as well as a series of x-rays to evaluate the sinus tarsi.

It's important to note that the HyProCure® procedure cannot be done on patients under the age of three because the sinus tarsi has not completely formed. Interestingly, there is no upper age limit, in fact HyProCure® has been successfully done on a patient who was 94!

When Can You Expect to Start Feeling Better?

The HyProCure® procedure takes approximately 20 minutes or less, and most patients find themselves up and walking quite normally, without aids, in two to three weeks. It can take several months for your bones, tendons, and ligaments in your foot to conform to the new proper alignment in your foot.

HyProCure® is an excellent option to consider if you’re experiencing pain and discomfort from misaligned feet. The procedure can dramatically reduce the symptoms you're experiencing and help improve your quality of life.
